Character · Book 5, The Butcher's Masquerade

Drakea

Author of the Cookbook's 22nd edition and its most prolific annotator: a crawler of the final Naga-run season whose notes — where to read safely, what the Nagas patched, a vow of wrath from the other side of the veil — are, Carl finds, borderline unhinged and a comfort.

Segment appearances

• Chapter 24 — The rock chucker
• Chapter 47 — My beautiful boy
• Chapter 52 — Gehenna Bramble
• Chapter 64 — The attendant entrance

Arc

Four notes from the 22nd edition on this floor: coin over life (ch. 24); one Carl thinks of after Volteeg's one and only entry (ch. 47); 'Gone is gone' (ch. 52); and the request to be as detailed as you can, which Carl answers by documenting a plan he does not think will succeed (ch. 64).
