Scars
'That's the thing with scars. We rarely get to choose them.' A tattoo that is a badge and not a scar because it was chosen; blood that is redder when it is spilled from someone you love; a woman made human again with an arm, two legs and an ear missing: 'We've all become experts at hiding what we've really lost.'
