Huanxin Jinx
A grixist heiress in the prologue's tenth floor and, seasons later, the CEO of Icon Industries, rich enough to lend to governments: she has played the Celestial Ascendency since childhood and never won, once drove the goddess Dodola, was suspended for bribery and killed Armita for Odette's betrayal. This season she sponsors Eileithyia, the goddess Katia came to worship through Princess Formidable's sponsor box, has Katia get Carl to repair Yemaya's shrine so that the goddess rises again, and bargains with Carl in a channel the system cannot read. 'She can go fuck herself,' says Mordecai — whose brother died the last time someone refused her.

Dead at Victory's feet.

Huanxin Jinx in book 6 — The Eye of the Bedlam Bride
The bored heiress driving Dodola in the prologue (ch. 0); Eileithyia's sponsor, a name Carl has never heard (ch. 17); Mordecai's briefing and his brother (ch. 19); Odette's account of the deal, the goddess lost, Armita killed (ch. 37). She honours the bargain after Odette's swerve, with everyone Carl loves as the forfeit (ch. 38).

Katia's sponsor for the orchid, whom Katia fears may drag the ceremony out (ch. 84); she drives Eileithyia in and out of the tent with contempt: the city splattered a convent, Odette controls the zombies, Victory sucked her way into office, the Maestro claims the crown, 'I have insurance' (ch. 86). Laundry Day rips her out of the goddess onto a circle of words of power; Donut's claws take her shields; Mordecai loads the bolt with his mother's ashes — 'mostly because of you' — and Donut fires it between her eyes. Dead at Victory's feet (ch. 86).
