The all-tree in book 5 — The Butcher's Masquerade
Holger raises the alarm that the all-tree has been attacked (ch. 24): any forest-kin within a few hundred metres of an outcropping is protected from magic, because the tree sucks the spell in and turns it on the caster, killing the outcropping, which grows back in a few months (ch. 25). A warning follows: stay away from all-trees, which whisper an apostate's location to Diwata (ch. 55). Grimaldi was planted beside a node and became one with the tree, as they all do in the end; its roots have survived every infestation (ch. 63).

The all-tree in book 7 — This Inevitable Ruin
The Semeru dug for their gods and found roots instead, the thing that connects everything, and built a castle on them as an apology: 'Some things should never be woken up' (ch. 7). Hellik says it is beginning to rot (ch. 54). Carl's bare feet in one of its roots as a dwarf's voice tells him he is family now (ch. 65); 'By the All Tree was that exhilarating,' says Eris (ch. 76); Map the All Tree, one mana, twelfth floor and deeper (ch. 79). Dead roots as thick as elephant trunks over a hole where the castle stood (ch. 86).
