Fire Brandy
Fire(wo)man of the Nightmare Express: a level-75 Lesser Demon MILF sealed in the boiler, giving birth every five minutes for sixty days, one in ten thousand viable, the rest becoming the Sheol Bricks the train burns. A German accent, two and then three living children, a contract she takes seriously, and — once Tizquick tells her about his daughter — the memory of a boat and a castle and other children who never came back. Arc
A face in the firebox when the train is a bomb (ch. 14): she talks Carl through the valves, births three children during the lesson, and tells him about the switch. She talks motherhood with Donut and adoption with Katia (ch. 16), refuses to be fired by Madison — 'You are ze boot, not ze foot' (ch. 18) — and will not move the train for a dwarf: 'There's nowhere to go, you fool'; Tizquick tells her about his daughter, and she keeps the fire hot for her babies as long as it lasts (ch. 31). Then she remembers: a boat, a castle, children named against the rules who never returned. 'They won't use me like this ever again.' She tells Carl 'we shouldn't be enemies in this,' whistles twice, and drives into the abyss (ch. 34).
