Motif · Book 5, The Butcher's Masquerade

Gehenna Bramble

From two Creepers in the north, ten-metre thorn walls spreading at four and a half kilometres an hour, uncounterable, blood-boiling, sparing only stairwells and saferooms, timed by Katia's arithmetic to cover the whole map as the clock runs out, ending at the castle where the top fifty are going anyway. They chase the elves home, dome the pit of the boss fight, and entomb what is left.
