Jola the Yule Cat, Katia's mythic Icelandic totem given to Donut: a house-sized dirty-brown Persian with a garbage-can candle melted to his head, arriving in a blizzard to an opera dirge, hungering for the naked and the lazy and 'the sweet, sweet taste of severed toddler tongue'. He speaks only Icelandic, eats a Nightgaunt whole, strips Quan Ch with Fashion Critic and eats his pants, and threatens Carl for taking the cloak. 'It makes me wish our entire deck was cats.'
