'Biologically, I am gondii, though that is not who I truly am… Let me tell you how to shut off the—' Orren says he never made it into the dungeon.

Arc
The prologue: the speech everyone at the shelter has heard, then the world frozen and the real one, from Goff, the Residual who wears him — the crawl is unnecessary, the fuse, the AI in pain — and the Paulie part's own plea to be absolutely certain (ch. 0). Orren says he never made it into the dungeon; the parts are disposable (ch. 20). Carl thinks of him frozen in time when a changeling's roots hold him spinning (ch. 68).
