Dante
The third edition's author, a crocodilian thief who took a deal at the start of the eleventh floor and, fourteen seasons short of his exit, was killed by administrative action for refusing orders while reassigned as an Ice Castle guard. A fellow owner of the Cookbook, he moved guilds to be near Justice Light, his brother in the book, and never told him who he was; remembered in the Dante interlude and in Justice Light's account to Juice Box of the ice castle.

The Dante interlude: a crocodilian thief reading Damien's newsletter with a skyfowl shopkeeper, who knows the shopkeeper is his brother in the book and has never told him; killed by administrative action fourteen seasons short of exit for refusing orders as an ice castle guard; third edition (B7 ch. 5). Justice Light's interlude tells the refusal from the other side: twice, and a beam from the sky; 'he died free' (B7 ch. 56).
