Chapter 27 — After the arena
Book: Dungeon Crawler Carl · Part: The First Floor · Previous: Chapter 26 — Six and a half hours · Next: Chapter 28 — The green room · Floor: Floor 1 — The Tutorial · Series: the series
Opening
The last tuskling to fall was different than the others.
Summary
Aftermath in the arena: level 10 for both, Imani 11, a Borough Field Guide that labels quadrants on the map, a tuxedo jacket that smells of hot diarrhoea, a Pig Harness, and Brandon's tutorial-guide explanation of why aliens wear tuxedos — the Syndicate has been seeding human culture from outside all along. Carl's last cigarette tastes like ash.
Donut answers the question before he asks it: they will scout ahead and come back for the residents. Agatha has vanished, and the stairs turn out to be a ramp. At the bottom Carl pushes the fish-man door and is not on the second floor but on a velvet couch on a boat: Lexis, associate producer, would like them on Odette's show.
