Character · Book 7, This Inevitable Ruin

Eris

The goddess of chaos, summoned by battlefield conditions with Nami inside her, who panic-casts Bear Witness and Bring Forth the Witnesses over a whole floor, is balled up with Meatus, and walks free at level 250 when her pilot dies: All Knowing, a wine aunt, half-sister of Taranis. She bites Carl's ear, snaps his pinkie, tells him where the Gate is and that he is 'already married', and turns up in the epilogue at a fuel stop.

Arc

Spontaneously summoned by battlefield conditions with an influencer inside her who looks like Hekla, she screams to be ejected (ch. 61, ch. 62), is used as a battering ram by Meatus (ch. 65), and panic-casts her once-ever Ceremony of Chaos — Bear Witness over the whole floor, then Bring Forth the Witnesses, which rockets eighty thousand frozen people into a pile and bans teleports for an hour (ch. 65, ch. 66). Balled up unconscious with Meatus (ch. 66), she turns the invulnerability off too late to matter (ch. 68). When Nami is stripped out of her she is free at level 250, All Knowing, unsponsorable this season: she stops time beside Carl, bites his ear, offers to make him a Champion if he kills Taranis, Emberus and Hellik, snaps his pinkie, says 'I wish you weren't already married', kisses him, and tells him where the Gate is and that Britney is possessed (ch. 76). Her laugh stays in the river after the ring is gone (ch. 86). In the epilogue she walks into a fuel stop outside the Earth gate in her own body (epilogue).
