Baroness Victory, esquire, formerly of the Skull Empire: half-sister of the late Queen Consort Ugloo, an attorney and judge with an hourglass carved on a tusk, who sentenced her own aunt to indentureship for unpaid taxes and is the only adjutant candidate the other teams sued to keep out. Chosen by Carl over Ripper Wonton and Drick: 'You'll do.'

Arc

Prime Minister Victory now, in a Syndicate bunker in Florida under local fire (ch. 27, epilogue). On the line with Orren during Plenty of Plenty she is level with Carl: the AI killed a Mantis system and nobody knows how it feeds; she calls his question reckless and admits he said it live (ch. 28, ch. 29). The AI curses her by name (ch. 81); she watches the Ascendency begin beside a sobbing scientist and thinks the centre system is not safe either (epilogue).
