He calls a pending suit over private messages at fifty-fifty (it wins), secures an injunction against the hunters' outside help, licenses Sensation's Vengeance of the Daughter past the sixth floor, explains Zerzura and Remex the Grand's fall, and turns the Society for the Eradication of Cocker Spaniels into a non-profit that buys a Faction Wars spot. 'You're a taxpaying stockholder now.'

A Null in a hula-girl tie who appears when Carl says the magic words: lawyers should not exist before the tenth floor, the naked Valtay are the worst, and from now on Carl says nothing to a liaison but 'I want to talk to my lawyer' (B5 ch. 3). A pending suit he called fifty-fifty succeeds (B5 ch. 8), bluffs Sensation (B5 ch. 13), delivers court-ordered messages (B5 ch. 15), gets the injunction (B5 ch. 21), explains Zerzura and Remex the Grand's fall and makes Carl a taxpaying stockholder (B5 ch. 56), and is summoned around a frozen court with a weeping chapter president (B5 ch. 59). He wanted Donut's name on the board, Carl guesses, because everyone else is expected to be dead (B5 ch. 63).
