Summary

Two achievements — You Monster! and War Criminal — deliver the AI's cruellest joke yet: twenty seconds of reassurance that the children are safe, then 'That was your reward. It was also a lie.' The reward is a Bronze and a Gold Asshole's Box. Inside: a Desperado Pass tattoo (a dagger on Carl's neck, a splotch on Donut's back that she calls a disqualifying mark), access to the Desperado Club, a warning that it negates the ability to obtain a Vanquisher pass, and no explanation.

A DMV-style safe room with experience cookies, the crawler count at 3,594,517, Donut's first armour (a Fae Steel crupper), the Minion Army tome she cannot yet read, the IED skill. On a cot under a ceiling tile carved AMW, Carl says it for the first time: 'You're not going to break me.'
