The stairwell rooms

Rock-hidden trapdoors at stations 12, 24, 36, 48 and 72 open into warehouse rooms with five stairwells in a circle on a floor etched with the Syndicate logo, ten platforms each. Each number draws its own ghouls: Jikininki generated at 12, Wrath Ghouls gathering at 36, festering ghouls fused into a province boss of screaming mouths at 48, Blisters generated at 72 — and 24 is where the Krakaren young go. The circle in the middle is a hatch to the noodle.

Arc

Found empty and humming at 24, 36 and 48 (ch. 18); Elle finds one at a blown 72 (ch. 28); a stairwell under 433 now the mimic is gone, Carl guesses (ch. 29). The circle in the middle is a hatch: at one day left the floor falls away and the Krakaren pour up, everywhere except the room where a portal hangs from a crane (ch. 31). Station 36 is held to the end and the whole group waits there for Carl (ch. 34).
