Character · Book 4, The Gate of the Feral Gods
Ghazi
The Mad Dune Mage: a level-43 human Glass Mage of the Larracos College of Magecraft, an unkempt man in a bathrobe with a fictional bard tattooed across his chest, who told his college he sought the Gate for teleportation research and in truth wanted to bargain with a lust god for a woman from a play. He summoned Psamathe instead, married her ooze by mistake, turned his castle to glass and himself to sand, and watches cartoons in his basement while his wife eats him. Punched out for the winding box; killed by Katia; turned to sand.

Arc
The neckbeard in the basement
His card: a Larracos College glass mage who lied about teleportation research to seek the Gate, wanted Yarilo, banished god of Lust, to make a stage-play bard love him, and summoned something else (ch. 21). His letters: his own to Kane, found on Kane's corpse, threatening to void the world before the ghost leaves the temple (ch. 16); the council's, ordering him to banish himself and the necropolis and striking him from the Tome of Scholars; Tish's, under it (ch. 21); his own to Tish, explaining the artifact, his wife's jealousy, and a plan to defeat Psamathe that breaks off at a missing page (ch. 23).
Mrs. Ghazi
Married by a false god to a bride of sand, drunk and in the dark; human only during the storm; eaten daily by an ooze that loves him; two hours of television a day and Inuyasha to finish; his real Lika a companion device with a soul in it, crystallised in a fountain. Punched out, robbed, and killed by Katia outside his castle; his body turns to sand (ch. 21, ch. 22).
