Character · Book 4, The Gate of the Feral Gods
Quetzalcoatlus
Emperor Anser's wife, buried alive with his court and now a screaming, bird-shaped ghost that walks through the tomb's walls: a Wailing Shrieker, the kind of ghost paranoid kings bred by plying women with affection so they would die of grief on hallowed ground beside the corpse. Killed by exorcism, banishment, the destruction of the lover's body, or electric shock; neutralised by any flesh-giving spell. She kills seven on the Akula's bridge, six of them changeling principals, turns a leviathan around, and dies when lightning reaches the water.
