The sandcastle
The land castle: a three-storey fortress of hard sand huddled against the tomb, four walls, two lightning towers, a magical door that opens into glass hallways once per storm, and a basement den on a living floor. Built around the main drainage tunnel; washed away like a sandcastle under a hose.

Arc
Gwen's castle: four walls (sand, seashell, two more), a chainsaw buzzard that wrecked their siege towers, a magically locked door (ch. 2, ch. 7, ch. 15). The easy way is a drain wheel by the tomb; the hard way is lightning on two towers and a glass hallway that opens once per storm (ch. 20). Inside: a frozen fountain, potions that turn to dust, a hoarder's basement on a living floor, and a stairwell behind it (ch. 21); its roof falls in as the ooze dies (ch. 22); a hose turns it to mud and its basement's occupants are washed into the sea (ch. 22, ch. 23). Two towers left like obelisks (ch. 23); a chamber that breaks the glass spell when Gwen sends Tran in (ch. 24); two hundred feet of beach turned to glass (ch. 29).
