Character · Book 5, The Butcher's Masquerade
Queen Imogen
Signet's half-sister, once King Finian's Sorcerer General, now Queen of the High Elves: High Elf Cleric Sorceress, Level 145 Country Boss, new this season and unseen until she fades into a wagon wearing the face of Ifechi's twin. The AI's card gives her no redeeming quality — a terrified girl afraid of dying like her father. She casts the Butcher's Masquerade for a boon nobody has earned, is sealed into her own party, and dies in the pit under blunt-force fire to a beat and a potion smashed into her face. Her prized necklace was a memorial crystal for Apito.

Arc
Named as Signet's half-sister, once Sorcerer General (ch. 14), the one who came to the Chee village and killed almost everyone (ch. 16); a country boss nobody has seen, therefore a repurposed human (ch. 20). She fades into a wagon wearing Ifechi's twin's face and asks Carl why he is smuggling someone who looks like her sister (ch. 64); she tells him the story of the first masquerade, wants Apito's boon, and stops her own hand at Britney when Britney becomes a guest (ch. 65). She arrives blooded, seals the room with herself inside, drags Carl across the floor, and spots Gideon's team from her chair (ch. 72, ch. 73). Her sister dies beside her and her ballroom fills with ink (ch. 74); she snaps Carl's arm and is stopped by her own cat (ch. 75). In the pit — 'the worst party since Alexander the Great took Persepolis' — she is pelted to a beat, blinded by a disco ball and killed by a goat's potion (ch. 76, ch. 77). Her necklace was a memorial crystal for the goddess she served.
