Place · Book 7, This Inevitable Ruin

Shanty Town

A ring of hovels around the funnel's entrance that nobody built — markets, temples, a mayor who keeps dying — whose mayorship passes to the Princess Posse for a bowler hat: a donut with no throne room, held by the White Dragons, the Nest and the clock tower on its edge, flattened by the passage of gods, and taken to the twelfth floor with the city.

Arc

A ring of hovels round the top entrance that 'just sprung up out of nowhere' after the flood — someone's Emergency Action Item, Carl suspects — with markets, temples, a hidden Club Vanquisher door, and a mayor who keeps dying (ch. 9). Bought from Ferdinand for a bowler hat (ch. 10); a donut with no throne room held by the White Dragons, taken only by killing Carl (ch. 29); a rhino's exile (ch. 28); a clock tower with wires, a brig, the Dagda's shack, and the Nest on its lip (ch. 47, ch. 50, ch. 56, ch. 57). Flattened by the passage of gods (ch. 73), the killing ground under the paw (ch. 76), ceded back to the NPCs and taken with the city (ch. 79, ch. 85).
