Addiction

Katia's four drugs, from the Desperado Club, where blitz sticks are sold openly, and its frozen-yogurt drug den Carl told her about: a painkiller, ground fairy wings, blitz sticks of false memories, and Glory Bound, a coma that relives one — stats scrambled, a rainbow into Louis's bucket, a cure that is a bad trip through her worst memory. Carl thinks of his father, and then of himself. 'I do understand. I don't want to. That's the problem.'
