Baroness Victory in book 6 — The Eye of the Bedlam Bride

Baroness Victory, esquire, formerly of the Skull Empire, half-sister of the late Queen Consort Ugloo and the most experienced judge of the lot, with an hourglass carved on a tusk, is asked whether Carl has killed any of her family (ch. 36); a humorless bitch, per Odette, but the only one who will put up with him, and a fan of legal loopholes (ch. 37) — 'You'll do' (ch. 36).

Baroness Victory in book 7 — This Inevitable Ruin

The adjutant, a 'non-combatant' in quotes after she puts a battle-axe through a suicide bomber's skull and argues with the ceiling until it apologises (ch. 13). She explains adjutants, the map and the phases (ch. 14), calls every foul including the Posse's (ch. 21, ch. 25), rules on the Lemig plot (ch. 18, ch. 19), and defines a 'non-team entity' that did not exist an hour ago (ch. 62). She stalls the war-mage trial on purpose and is out-manoeuvred (ch. 67, ch. 68). Her sister Ugloo lost herself in a royal marriage (ch. 14); her deal with Porthus and Rosetta, brokered before she was adjutant, is a yacht of orc children in exchange for a pin number (ch. 69). 'That's Nami' (ch. 69). 'It's genius. I would never have thought of that' (ch. 75). When her underage nieces and nephews die in orbit she is eligible for office again, and comes back acting Prime Minister of the Syndicate; Carl puts a hand on her soft shoulder and would kill her without hesitating, and she knows it (ch. 86). She leaves for the last time congratulating them on their victory and about to be yelled at for another dead CEO (ch. 86).
