Opening
Finding the boss chamber of the kobolds was easy.
Summary
Black metal at a volume that hurts leads to the kobold boss chamber: a Portuguese dog pound of caged, wounded Danger Dingoes with red dots and cheering from the arena beyond. Carl reads the room — 'I hated this place. I hated it so damn much' — and tosses a pet biscuit into a cage. The dot turns white. Fourteen times.
Ralph, Frenzied Gerbil, level 11, is introduced with a history lesson about the Asian great gerbil and the Black Death and shot out of a shoebox cage at Carl's throat. A jug kills the kobolds; a one-eyed dingo swallows the boss whole; the freed dingoes tear their masters apart. 'As unfair as this world was, it was still a game.' Then the dingo's head explodes, the gerbil is stunned by a two-per-cent gauntlet proc, and Donut quotes Bea: 'Time to pay the Daddy tax.'
