A recipe book to the showrunners and a manual to its holder, read in bathroom stalls: passed from crawler to crawler across seasons, each adding an edition — Carl's is the 25th — invisible to the showrunners, not to the AI, and erased if its holder tells anyone.

Progression

Its authors are still in the story: Herot is alive in the Cabaret and taught the Worn Path Method (ch. 38), and Tipid remembers him as 'a real thorn' (ch. 39); Herot's theory is to be tested on Li Na (ch. 55); Carl thinks of Milk's loneliness at Porky's mattress (ch. 58); Mordecai cites Drakea's failed precedent for Carl's plan (ch. 71). 'Herot was a cookbook author, and as such, I trusted them' (ch. 83). Forkith is in Sheol (epilogue).
