The Necropolis of Anser
The subterranean quadrant: a nine-kilometre tomb-mountain, its outer face carved with pterodactyls in an Aztec style, a maze of traps and Nude Glaber settlements from the top down to the Crypt of Anser, whose master was a goose in a gold crown. Its map is the hostage's; its ghost queen is its guardian; it floods when the Akula falls, drains through the sandcastle, and is electrified through a cable connected by dying men.

Arc
A sealed cave mouth and a screaming pterodactyl on the walls (ch. 1); a map that makes the Tangle look like child's play, on a table in a basement (ch. 6); nine kilometres tall, its lower rooms entered by ceiling and floor (ch. 8); a bugbear's twenty-year hunt, a sub docked at its foot, the Gate said to be buried in it (ch. 9). Anser subjugated the camels and the glabers and built it with their slaves; his court and wife were buried alive with him (ch. 7, ch. 12). It seals and floods when the Akula falls (ch. 10), drains through the sandcastle (ch. 22), is electrified through a cable connected by dying men (ch. 29), and, dry, gives up a goose in a gold crown and a map of the sixth floor (ch. 33).
