The mantra: four times in book 1, four in book 2, three in book 3 — after Brandon's message, after Growler Gary, in the trainyard — and then rewritten at the end of Carl's Cookbook entry: 'They will not break me. Fuck them all. […] But I will break them.' The essay Carl and the machine tracks every instance.
Through book 1
Said four times in book 1, each time just after the game has made him feel like an asshole. The series' central claim about its narrator. See Carl and the machine.

Four more times (B2 ch. 10, B2 ch. 11, B2 ch. 17, B2 ch. 25), and after the first always with 'Fuck you all'. The essay Carl and the machine has the book-2 rows.

Through book 4
Six times: after Ifechi's death, after 'Good boy', in the Cookbook after Loita, unspoken before a liaison, at the sight of a puppy used as bait — and the last, to the sky, is a pledge: 'One by one, I will break you. I will break you all' (B4 ch. 4, B4 ch. 13, B4 ch. 18, B4 ch. 19, B4 ch. 29, B4 ch. 34).

First said aloud to a safe-room ceiling in ch. 19, after the AI's You Monster! gave him twenty seconds of false comfort about the goblin babies and took it back: 'You might hurt me, or kill me, but you're not going to break me.' Whispered as a mantra after the laminak fairy screams that they were going to move to the third floor (ch. 33); thought at the Maestro's threats (ch. 42); thought again at the cheering crowds while Donut teaches Mongo to pounce (ch. 47): 'Fuck you all. You will not break me.' The book's claim about its narrator, made each time the game has just succeeded in making him feel like an asshole.
