God · from book 4

Yarilo

The feral god of lust, Emberus's nephew or cousin or half-brother in Carl's uncertain count, banished to the Nothing for ruining one of Apito's masquerades — the god Samantha impersonated to escape the Nothing, who hates her for it. Born of the Gate's last opening on the ninth floor, conscripted by a war mage's potion, and beaten to death with Meatus by Harpocrates: 'Not my face.' His death angers the gods.

The legend: 'Yarilo—who was the child of Taranis—had been banished to the Nothing by Apito, who was both his grandmother and stepmother', for breaking the peace of her Butcher's Masquerade (B8 ch. 70). Eris to Taranis: 'Remember what she did to Yarilo?' (B8 ch. 97).
