God · from book 3
Taranis
God of thunder and lightning, regent to the Celestial Throne, big brother of Emberus and Hellik and, by Carl's count, of Eris (her card says half-sister), and husband of Apito, 'who was also his mom'; in book 8 the protector of a level-5 sow cursed so that he loves her. He kills his brother Emberus for burning her, tears Krakaren apart and takes her and Samantha as pieces of Apito, and steals Apito's memorial crystal from Prepotente's neck.

Book 3 — The Dungeon Anarchist's Cookbook
Named once, on Grull's level-250 card: Grull is the child of Taranis and Apito, and Taranis worries his son is not the best choice to rule the heavens (B3 ch. 33).
Book 4 — The Gate of the Feral Gods
The larger, yellow sun of bubble 543, explained by a dromedarian: Taranis strolls for twenty-two hours, is caught by Hellik four hours before dark, and at the Red Equinox is caught for good and shows for four hours a day (B4 ch. 3). Emberus's card calls him big brother; Emberus's quest calls him 'Taranis God of Thunder and regent to the Celestial Throne' (B4 ch. 31, B4 ch. 32).
Book 5 — The Butcher's Masquerade
Named twice, both in Imogen's telling of the first masquerade: Apito's husband and co-host, who raged at his wife for exiling 'his child' Yarilo, after which the fighting spread until every mortal and demigod present was killed (B5 ch. 65). Nothing about him in the present tense.
Book 6 — The Eye of the Bedlam Bride
Ysalte's card: 'She is half-sister and niece to her former lover, Taranis' (B6 ch. 66).
Book 8 — A Parade of Horribles
Penelope the pig 'is magically protected by Taranis', and whoever hurts her 'will be marked for death by the thunder god' (B8 ch. 19); Carl's plan needs a god who throws lightning, and Taranis is why (B8 ch. 95). In the arena he bends over the pig's plasma, raises his hand at his little brother, who says 'Brother, no', and twists his wrist (B8 ch. 96). Eris taunts him that four of their mother's five pieces are watching, and tells Carl the AI is using the pig to play him (B8 ch. 97); he pulls the memorial crystal off Prepotente's neck — 'The thief pulled it right off my neck!' (B8 ch. 98) — and takes Krakaren and Samantha to his temple, 'TRYING TO COMBINE A BUNCH OF THINGS TO MAKE WHOLE HIS MOM WIFE' (B8 ch. 99).
