The pet Donut chooses from the kobolds' menagerie on the second floor — a seven-inch, pink-feathered 'Mongoliensis' that bites her nose and fights anything it sees. Bonded as her Royal Steed hours before the floor closes. Odette supplies the translation: velociraptor.

Mongo chomps the second weasel (ch. 2), is barred at a bridge by a poster (ch. 10), and is called into the jungle by his own kind, where he mates with the pack leader and comes home drunk (ch. 11, ch. 12). He dives into a boss's wound and eats his way out the back (ch. 27), shakes Samantha like a chew toy (ch. 24), gives a litre of blood for a potion (ch. 46), is circled, presented to and claimed (ch. 49), and nearly dies to a lightning bolt from the queen's familiar (ch. 51). He moonwalks (ch. 70). At the party, in a fallen crab costume, he and Kiwi tear Vrah apart, and Carl tells him to make it hurt (ch. 74, ch. 75). Donut rides him through the pit (ch. 76); he is sad afterwards.
