Daniel Bautista in book 2 — Carl's Doomsday Scenario
His sisters' and cousin's corpses are the lemurs' bait (ch. 5, ch. 6); his name is on the Divider's corpse (ch. 18). Met at last outside the collapsing municipal building (ch. 23): a Tigran who wishes he had stayed human so God would recognise him, whose quest Carl ruined and whose family Carl avenged. 'Call me if you need me, and I will come.' Points the way to the second stairwell (ch. 25).
Daniel Bautista in book 3 — The Dungeon Anarchist's Cookbook
Carl's other switchboard: station 199 (ch. 4), the club-number trick and the first bounty talk (ch. 6), the end of the line. He gathers four hundred, loses twenty to Terminus, neutralises the Kravyad with a Voca Nye and loses the portal when she dies (ch. 18, ch. 19, ch. 20), walks fifty kilometres to the abyss, loses almost fifty on its walkway, and waits with six hundred while Carl's carts come (ch. 27, ch. 28). His secret is Miss Quill's stuffed monsters — true summonings, from Jaxbrin Amusements, his sponsor (ch. 29). A tiger 'vomited upon by a Lisa Frank notebook,' level 28, a swashbuckler who needs to practise with his sword. 'Thank god for plan B.' 'That was actually plan C.'
Daniel Bautista in book 4 — The Gate of the Feral Gods
In a tunnel, then an ant colony, going through Miss Quill's stuffed monsters (ch. 1, ch. 7); gave Carl the Grulke figure that becomes a decoy toad (ch. 7). Clears all four of his castles with most of his bubble dead (ch. 20); goes down as a god rampages (ch. 28); he joins Katia's new party; she says he is 'very lost' (ch. 33).
Daniel Bautista in book 5 — The Butcher's Masquerade
He owns a stuffed back-alley mouser that becomes a decoy Donut (ch. 34), sorts five hundred beanies for rare variants (ch. 36, ch. 57), and is with Katia now — 'You know. You had a thing for her' (ch. 57). He holds her back from Eva (ch. 67), cuts across the ballroom between two chainsaw-armed summons (ch. 75), and is nearly killed with Tran in the pit (ch. 76). The epilogue gives his side of the night before: 'You're stronger than you think. That's all.' 'I love you, too' (epilogue).

Daniel Bautista in book 7 — This Inevitable Ruin
Pacing and chewing a claw through Katia's rehab (ch. 16); arguing with her in flashing eyes and hearing 'I said no' while Samantha whispers in his ear (ch. 47); asking Carl in private chat to make her eat the flower now, because he thinks Carl will turn on her (ch. 47). He throws stuffed animals into shifting honeycombs to map the Reaver castle (ch. 80), flees the tent when the ceremony is called (ch. 84), and comes back with the cybernetic limbs Katia designed, finished: 'I love you. I’m sorry I made you doubt me' (ch. 86). 'I know I am not considered human anymore, and that is my great shame' (ch. 87). He warns Carl that Kimaris is a brother of Sheol (ch. 87).
