Rockard's Ring of Sniping — every creature under half health and every creature in magical gear shown on his map — explains the career (ch. 32).

The arm

He hunts a level-10 puppy for a million gold and would take 'that fucking cat' as a bonus (ch. 31). A disco ball on his shield, a tail gun, a remote hob-lobber and a fall; back to drop the dog to 2%; frozen grenade, summoned god, a Drop Bear in a god's nose. On the ground he attacks a man he thinks invulnerable and is punched, slammed face-first into a rock and told he is a bully nobody likes; rocketing away, he leaves his whole left arm in Carl's hand, three rings on its fingers, one of them 'For Daddy' (ch. 31, ch. 32). 'Tell him that was just a deposit.' Tenth on the final board.

Sixty-plus skulls (ch. 58); five million gold; a sock of nickels (ch. 60).
