By book
Prince Stalwart in book 1 — Dungeon Crawler Carl
A voice from the rental trailer's ceiling threatens to drown Carl and Donut if they will not sit (ch. 42). Zev later names the show's owner, Crown Prince Stalwart of the Skull Empire, the Maestro's older brother (ch. 44), and Carl wonders whether the voice was his. 'That name is almost as bad as ‘the Maestro.’'
Prince Stalwart in book 2 — Carl's Doomsday Scenario
A voice threatening to drown them in book 1's rental closet; in ch. 19 a face: leaner than his brother, cruel-eyed, seated on the ninth floor with an army drilling outside, announcing a summary execution for sedition that killed a pop star instead. Carl thinks the statement was too ready — that Stalwart was set up too (ch. 20). The Valtay destroy his yacht, Queen Consort Ugloo and his brother the Maestro believed aboard.
Prince Stalwart in book 3 — The Dungeon Anarchist's Cookbook
Prince Stalwart in book 4 — The Gate of the Feral Gods
Maggie's second sponsor (ch. 14); Plaintiff #1 in the suit over the Gate, whose mother's portrait the AI gives Carl as a prize (ch. 28); the Skull Empire, sole plaintiff in the final injunction, beaten with the Valtay's help (ch. 34). The pre-built castle he made his video from is the target Carl announces for the feral god, and does not use.
Prince Stalwart in book 5 — The Butcher's Masquerade
The son, with the Maestro, of Queen Consort Ugloo, whose photograph Carl holds up at the end: she died when the Valtay blew up her yacht after the orcs killed Manasa the singer (ch. 77).
Prince Stalwart in book 6 — The Eye of the Bedlam Bride
The Maestro's older brother, seen once in a video wrongly claiming he had assassinated Carl and Donut, when he had killed Manasa the singer instead (ch. 21); 'We know who you are, you fucking imbecile' at the warlords' table (ch. 21); Juice Box turns into a facsimile of him with an arrow in his eye, and then a real magical arrow from a shooter nobody sees sprouts from his eye (ch. 22); a codpiece threat (ch. 21) that returns as 'Captain Enormous' on Odette's screen (ch. 35).
Prince Stalwart in book 7 — This Inevitable Ruin
War chief after his father's death, in a gold crown at the council that Donut bet on (ch. 39, ch. 42); Tagg tells him his fleet's Skull hardware is deactivated (ch. 43); a 700-ton scorpion tank in Florin's flank, probably with him aboard (ch. 60). Fighting his own men, netted, teleported to Elle's clearing, he is torn apart by four war mages: 'My sister was right' (ch. 61). His brats in orbit, one of them the new king, die in a yacht (ch. 69, epilogue).
Prince Stalwart in book 8 — A Parade of Horribles
Killed by Akuma's men, as Carl recalls when the war mage returns (ch. 24).
