Ife
A 'private security' man with an Australian accent and a modified Mossberg who ate his lover's leeches for tripled buffs; the recap shows the reunion and the death — Ifechi's protection spell cast on him and a stranger and not herself, Lucia's Rubber on her head, his volleys into Lucia and the dogs reflected into her skull, his last into his own temple, a golden kill mark for it (ch. 4). He sits down in the wheel room with her staff across his lap and does not spin (ch. 4).
Out
He emerges to a bubble where everyone else is dead (ch. 20), takes three castles alone, and is the last rescue of the first phase, having got club access because he 'killed' Ifechi (ch. 33). He tells Carl the story Elle told him and why he is still alive — 'There is something left to fight for' — offers a backup gun, and walks straight down the stairs. He joins Katia's party. Off the board by the end.
Florin in book 5 — The Butcher's Masquerade
Brooding, 'a good Carl impersonation' (ch. 11); a crocodilian face with blood on it after a raid (ch. 62). He claims Lucia Mar for himself on the planning notes (ch. 64), and then the queen arrives wearing his dead girlfriend's face, and he refuses the stairs: 'I don't see your cat going down the stairs' (ch. 65). He marches on Lucia and stops, seeing something wrong (ch. 67), and later holds a sobbing ten-year-old inside her and calls for her protection (ch. 71). He knows the twin from Ifechi (ch. 73), keeps a shotgun beat in the ballroom with Lucia behind him (ch. 75), calls 'Heave!' in the pit (ch. 76), and sobs when the queen dies as he did when Ifechi did (ch. 77).
Florin in book 6 — The Eye of the Bedlam Bride
Florin in book 7 — This Inevitable Ruin
General, by Donut's touch and his own hierarchy (ch. 5); the man with the rulebook who reads the Ramp-Up as the thing to plan around (ch. 6); a caiman card that lifts wall sections (ch. 12); the commander who stalls an armoured column into a minefield (ch. 32) and bombs an orc mountain into eruption — 'Wicked, mate' (ch. 60). He laughs at Lucia's net trap, calls her the queen of the triple tap, and will not take a deal: 'I want to go down fighting' (ch. 78). He holds Kiwi's hand through labour (ch. 82), suggests drowning the twins (ch. 82), and parties with Lucia at the stairs so that someone is with her (ch. 86). His bullet-holed 1800s dictionary defines Atrocity (ch. 73).
