Progression
The floor's plot arrives as quests. I have dreamed thee too long: reunite Dong Quixote with his best friend Corcunda, for a reward that sends 'two stand-ins of your choosing' to the eleventh floor's arena (ch. 13, ch. 24); Half a prayer, half a song, part two of the same quest, restates that reward — the temporary classes in corpse suits come from the achievement Weaseler! (ch. 24, ch. 25, ch. 67). Pasty Inferno is mandatory and mirrored on every track — 'You will not be able to finish this race unless the Maurice on your track is dead' (ch. 43, ch. 47, ch. 50); Ad Infinitum, the ring hunt through the L'Engle Building, is mandatory too, and 'this ain’t a real quest' (ch. 74). The Nine-Tier Attack. Part one opens as 'a Nine-Part Quest' whose reward is revealed only at the ninth attack (ch. 81). And the oldest quest on the list comes due: Kill Hellik, before the eleventh floor ends, which Carl escapes by leaving Emberus's faith (ch. 67, ch. 69, ch. 95).
